Head Coach Glen Padgett is a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School(1980) and Wofford College(1984). Coach Padgett returned to Concord in 2009 with an outstanding reputation as a classroom teacher and mentor. 

Coach Padgett's coaching experience includes:

  • James F. Byrnes High School - Duncan, SC: Assistant Coach 1985(State Runner-up) & 1986(State 4A Champion)
  • Concord High School - Assistant Coach 1987-1998 Athletic Director 1989-1998
  • Salisbury High School - Head Coach 1998-1999
  • Northwest Cabarrus High School - Head Coach 1999-2002
  • North Mecklenburg High School - Head Coach 2002-2009


Coach Padgett has served as a U.S. History teacher, Leadership and Student Council Advisor, and dropout prevention coordinator.

  • 2005-2006 President, North Carolina Football Coaches Association

  • 2008 North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All- Star Football Game Assistant Coach
  • Six- time SPC Tennis Coach of the Year (1991 State 3A Champions)
  • Shrine Bowl Assistant Coach 2014
